Associate Professor Justin Chu is currently the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Infectious Diseases Translational Research Programme (IDTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is holding a Joint Senior Principal Investigator in the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), A*STAR. A/P Chu is also the Director of the largest research high containment Biosafety Level 3 Facility in Singapore, which is located in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. A/P Chu is actively engaged in the study of antiviral therapeutics and vaccine development for medically important positive-sense single stranded RNA viruses including human enteroviruses that cause HFMD, mosquito-borne viruses including Dengue, Zika, Japanese Encephalitis and Chikungunya as well as coronaviruses (SARS CoV-2). He is the current elected President for Asia Pacific Society for Medical Virology and the President for Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology.
